"why shouldn't men be allowed in womens chess"
because they're men
"so you're saying women are worse at chess?"
no fuckhead thats a whole different sentence
Dunno what this has to do with trans women, who've shown to have similar-sized prefrontal cortices as cis women, but okay.
why are you so braindead that you read this and thought the problem would be women having a different capacity for logic or intelligence
Because transphobes are illogical.
when you’re the one saying dumb shit??
Except for the fact that Val Whiting wrote this Tweet about sports, in which MtFs actually do have a very clear biological advantage over women. She responded to a thread about chess but I'm pretty sure responded to one of the Tweets that wasn't explicitly about chess. She uses the terms "athletes" and "sports" in a lot of these Tweets so it's fair enough to say she's talking about sports and not chess.
You can see in this screenshot, she's responding not to the initial thread about chess, but to the second Tweet and likely responding to correct the assumption that saying men are biologically stronger = they're biologically better. She explicitly states that while she recognizes the reality that males have more muscle % than females, she knows that this doesn't mean they're inherently better, only more athletically inclined to dominate these types of sports that DO involve muscle.
So in short, you're using a cropped image that removes the context of what Val Whiting was saying. A quick look to Twitter would see that she was not referring to chess, but responding to a comment that was discusses trans athleticism as well. If you're going to accuse other people of being illogical, you're going to have to try better than that.
I know that terfism isn't true feminism, but wow and lol at the fact that it's come to "girls aren't as good as boys".
Anyways...
Actually no, nobody is saying "girls aren't as good as boys", we are stating a biological fact that women have less muscle mass than men. It's a well known fact that female bodies retain more fat % while male bodies retain more muscle %. Obviously, in sports where muscle mass is highlighted (physical strength), men will outperform women. A lot of these sports are designed with a male idea of strength and physique in mind. However this does not mean, like you said, that "girls aren't as good as boys". In fact, the only one making the connection that not as strong = not as good ... is ironically, you!
And funny, because even after a year of hormone therapy, studies have found that trans MtFs still retain an advantage in physical sport. And in running, this advantage stays for two years or more.
Additionally, studies have found that while HRT does reduce the levels of strength and muscle mass in MtFs, it doesn't reduce it enough to be fair even after 3 years of hormone therapy.
"In contrast, hormone therapy decreases strength, LBM and muscle area, yet values remain above that observed in cisgender women, even after 36 months. These findings suggest that strength may be well preserved in transwomen during the first 3 years of hormone therapy."
Another study found that after a year of testosterone inhibition, MtFs lost relatively no strength.
"Perhaps more surprising was that the transgender women did not lose strength at all despite inhibited testosterone production. In addition, the effect on muscle mass of the transgender women was less pronounced than many people previously thought, losing only 5% of the muscle volume over the thigh muscles."
Another study found even after 14 years on hormone therapy, MtFs still retained higher heart and lung capacity, lower body fat, and greater skeletal muscle mass than women. Though this study was not on elite athletes, it is still relevant as they can become athletes later on, even while retaining these significant advantages.
"The trans women had been on hormone therapy for an average of 14 years, which had started at age 17, on average. As well asΒ heart and lung capacity and strength, total body fat was lower and skeletal muscle mass was higher among the trans women than among the cis women, but higher and lower than they were in cis men, respectively."
"The researchers found that transgender women had about 40% greater muscle mass than cisgender women. Moreover, they were about 19% stronger and had 20% greater cardiopulmonary capacity.Β By current NCAA and Olympic rules, these women are allowed to compete in women's sporting events."
Also, next time I would advise you to read your own source. I'm fairly sure you just searched up "trans women don't have advantage" and just sourced this article without actually looking at the report it was discussing. Don't worry, I did it for you.
Within the first few pages, the report admits that "when adjusting for height and fat mass, LBM, CSA, and strength after 12 months of testosterone suppression, trans women still retained statistically higher levels than cis women".
The report admits it's biomedical research is inconclusive. Rather, it calls for more research to be done about the topic. The second area of research that the report does is sociocultural, which I will ignore because it's meant to discuss things like history and discrimination, which are unrelated to the physical advantages of sex.
This report falsely makes the conclusion that just because sex characteristics can overlap, that "male and female are not mutually exclusive categories and should not be treated as such". It is very hard for me to respect a report written so blatantly with bias against biological fact. Male and female are mutually exclusive categories that affect how our bodies develop both inside and outside the womb. Even DSDs (intersex disorders) are sex-segregated. There is no "mix" of the sexes, nor a third sex. To claim so discredits this report and makes me wonder how credible it can be considered.
The report shows us the comparison between MtFs, cis men, and cis women in terms of height and weight. You can see this in the below tables that they use the data to make the conclusion that MtFs are not as strong as cis men because MtFs have lower height and weight than cis men. It says nothing of the even greater disparity and difference between MtFs and cis women. The difference is significant and yet not discussed.
The physical male advantage is very obvious. In this photo, can you tell who is Lia Thomas, the MtF swimmer?

In this photo, we have the average female and male weightlifting. Can you see on which line Laurel Hubbard's lift is?
And as for your tags...
Actually no, we're not "contributing to the mockery of women's sports", and that's a whole lot of bogus you've made up. I've been keeping up with the women's FIFA with my brother and we've both been enjoying the games a lot! In fact, women's soccer is really refreshing since they dramatize it less. Unlike Neymar and many other male players, they don't just fall down for no reason so that a penalty or yellow card can be called. I respect the women's players a lot, even though my country's team didn't qualify.
But this recurring accusation you've made that radical feminists are perpetuating the narrative that women aren't as good as men is untrue. It's a fact that women aren't as physically strong as men, as we have less muscle mass. This isn't the same as saying women aren't as athletic as men or that we can't do a good job at our sports. There are many biological advantages to being female. Did you know that women's bodies storing more fat % than muscle actually means we're less likely to die from famine or cold? Did you know that women's immune systems are far stronger than men's, because of our XX chromosomes? Did you know that men are several times more likely to die from COVID, despite infection rates being the same, likely due to this fact that women are so much more immune? Did you know that even female infants are more likely to survive harsh conditions than male infants, so the female advantage of overcoming sickness starts at the first stages of life, and extends to old age as well? Did you know that within sports that highlight endurance and flexibility (two female advantages), women typically perform on par with men and sometimes even better? This is the case with ultra-endurance running and swimming. It's because women burn through more fat % for fuel since they have more of it, leaving extra carbohydrates. So while women exert less force, they are more resistant to fatigue!
It's very important for feminists to not lie that women are "as physically strong as men", because this is untrue. We should not be making the goal of feminism to be exactly like men. Rather, we should highlight the unique advantages and traits that women's bodies have.
